APU is the first Malaysian university to secure the Five Stars Plus rating in the latest QS Stars Rating awards, presented at the QS Apple Conference on 1 November 2021. This rating must be achieved by obtaining five stars across all categories and meeting the highest benchmark score set by QS STARS; it is among 19 universities worldwide to have earned this honor.

In the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2023, released on 8 November 2022, APU is ranked among the top 10 Malaysian private universities. It is also placed among the top 5 for both international students and inbound exchange, and within the top 30 for international faculty by QS. Additionally, APU is ranked #52 in the South-Eastern Asia ranking and among the top 240 universities in the QS World University Rankings – Asia 2023.

APU was awarded a 5-STAR (EXCELLENT Rating) under the latest SETARA Ratings by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. This rating has been maintained consecutively in the SETARA 2011, 2013, 2017, and most recently in the ratings announced on 18 December 2020. This rating system measures the performance of teaching and learning in universities in Malaysia.

Moreover, APU was awarded the Premier Digital Tech University status by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). It is recognized for its commitment to providing top-notch digital technology courses and producing highly-skilled graduates to fill future digital job demands both locally and globally. This status was awarded by the Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, as Premier Digital Tech Universities and Preferred Digital Tech Polytechnics (PDTIs) are the nation's leading digital tech-focused tertiary institutions.

Finally, according to the latest Annual Graduate Tracer Study by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, 100% of APU graduates had been employed at the time of graduation. To date, more than 50,000 alumni have gone on to pursue careers in various industries worldwide.
